    Carl cooked an amazing menu for my Dad's 80th birthday. The Beef Wellington with beef fat terrine was the star of the show. Great food and company. Highly recommend, thanks Carl!

    Absolutely lovely evening, amazing food a really lovely experience. Carl is a lovely person and very friendly, he went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and had a conversation with everyone. I loved how he explained the food, we would definitely recommend and would 100% do it again.

    I would strongly recommend Carl for an excellent private dining experience in your own home. Delicious & interesting dishes (see below) tailored to our specific tastes and delivered in tandem with the answers to all our culinary (and Great British Menu) questions - it was perfect for our BIG birthday occasion.

    Had a brilliant celebration at home for a family 50th Birthday celebration. Carl was so accommodating with respect to dietaries and allergies making the planning beforehand seamless and efficient. On the night he and Lara were super professional but also friendly, it was lovely to chat to them. The food was flawless and absolutely delicious, we were still talking about it the next day, would recommend to anyone looking for something special!

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Had the delight of trying Carl's Great British Menu 2026 at The Hideaway @Discovery. What a pleasure!

    Bold interesting flavours mixed with subtlety and deftness throughout.
    A really memorable menu with special mention to the Liver Free Lector which was so tasty and so surprising!

    We'll definitely be looking out for more opportunities to eat Carl's cuisine again!

    ‘‘Chef Carl came to cook for my Mums 70th birthday, a dinner of 11 guests. We were blown away by the food - quality of ingredients and the imaginative and exciting way they were delivered.

    Carl was flexible and accommodated our menu request for our Mums favourite food (fish and lamb).

    He was also exceptionally professional and friendly from start to clean up. Personable and engaging, both front of house and back.’’

    ‘‘ It was an absolutely incredible evening which exceeded any dining experience we’ve had before. Every course was presented to an exceptional standard and made us want to tuck straight in. The Flavours and textures were equistite, and complimented each other so well - each dish leading seamlessly into the next. Its hard to pick a favourite from the evening as every single dish was perfect, but the Trout Tart, BBQ Monkfish and Chocolate & Raspberry all went down very quickly.

    We had a delightful evening to celebrate a milestone birthday. A group of five foodie friends enjoyed a gastronomic treat. The nine course tasting menu was beautifully presented and imaginative flavours and colours combined to make artworks on our plates. We loved all the courses - not too large but generous enough to give us a good taste of everything. The fish was particularly memorable along with the pudding. Chef Carl came out to tell us about how the individual courses were assembled and he was informative and modest. We had a wonderful evening with a gorgeous sunset too.

    Enjoyed a select dinner with Carl at Insole Court. It was great hearing about each dish and his experience at GBM. Enjoyed everything we ate but the fish was my favourite!

    Truly an unforgettable and unique tasting experience! Tyme restaurant went above and beyond in creating a sustainable and extremely tasty 9 dish menu with a variety of ingredients. My favourites being the BBQ Stone Bass and the Cheese Gourgère.

    ‘‘ A fantastic modern dining experience, not to be missed. We loved all 9 courses, especially the lamb with ewe’s curd. Presentation of dishes was innovative and varied, and the flavours were exceptional. Carl focusses on sustainability and aims to use all parts of produce in his dishes, reducing waste and introducing us to new flavours. The perfect dining experience for a summer date, or for anyone who is a fan of fine dining. ‘‘

    Had an amazing foodie night at this the first of Carls pop up restaurant nights in Cardiff. The venue was at a by day bakery called Ground.

    Even though there was only 10 people eating the atmosphere was great.The Chefs window was a great feature so we could see Chef preparing all the dishes close up.

    The menu was great, especially as some of my dishes needed to be swapped for the Veggie option due to my allergies.

    The stand out dishes for me where his Welsh Leek dish, the Ravioli filled with Ewes curd with Pea Purée and mint. The desert called “Strawberry” was wow in the mouth and so refreshing.

    Check it out you won’t be disappointed.

    Just been to Carl Cleghorn’s Great British menu experience and it was seriously impressive.

    You can tell a lot of thought and skill has gone into this menu. It’s not just good food, it’s excellent, and extremely well put together. Every course had a clear idea behind it and actually delivered, which doesn’t always happen with tasting menus.

    I’d highly recommend securing a booking as soon as one becomes available,

    Great British Menu - so much better in real life.
    Carl’s food looks good and tastes even better.
    Fantastic evening at Insole Court experiencing Carl’s menu from the Great British Menu.
    Every course was delicious- who knew a mushroom could taste so good? The cured sea bass was amazing. Carl was also the ultimate host talking us through each dish and explaining. their inspirations. Interesting to hear his experience of being a contestant.
    I would highly recommend and look forward to tasting Carl’s good again.
